Twister #9
2002
Recycled umbrella frames and fabric

48 x 16 x 18 inches

Alpan Gallery
From the series: Twister

My sculptures in the series "Twisters" are made of recycled umbrella parts configured to create spiral forms. Spirals in nature range in scale from swirling celestial galaxies to a DNA double helix. But my spirals are pet-sized quirky constructions. "Twister #9" is made by twisting umbrella fabric around armatures made of umbrella frames and is hung from the ceiling.
